Deterministic-first code review for the era of AI-generated code. SlashGuard pairs a local 1,500-rule deterministic engine with AI-guided scanning to catch the security and performance defects that LLM coding assistants reliably ship, turning multi-pass human review into a single automated gate inside Cursor, Claude Code, and Windsurf.

Validation today is anecdotal but pointed: an Amazon principal engineer drowning in 500 reviews over four months — on a non-deterministic internal tool that reportedly costs Amazon ~$1M/year — sought the product out unprompted on a flight, and the team is mid-roadshow with Insight Partners and Four Cities Capital. Inception Studio has committed $100K on a $20M cap SAFE with MFN; the round is $3–5M for 18–24 months of runway pending entity formation with Goodwin. StoryHouse Fund II is evaluating from a single intro call (2026-06-04) and has not yet sized a check.

15 years at InstaMed (acquired by JPMorgan), where he spent ~1.5 years personally running the kind of code-review burden SlashGuard now automates. Previously founded ItsWare, FinDox, MoviePals, RXminder, and ReasonableDevelopment. The product thesis comes directly from his frustration with AI-generated code at ItsWare requiring 3–4 review passes per pull request. Currently winding down ItsWare and stepping into a 5-hour/week technical-advisor role at his insurance company; six-month vest is complete.

Brought in to own enterprise GTM. Has 4+ prior exits and a track record of selling into Fortune 100 accounts — the relevant background for the regulated healthcare and fintech segments SlashGuard intends to prioritize.

Open Questions & Risks

Pre-revenue, pre-commercial. The product is still an internal tool. The team estimates 6 months until a commercial platform exists, which means the round funds product-market fit, not scaling.
Crowded, well-funded category. Amazon already runs an internal non-deterministic AI review tool at ~$1M/year. Other AI code-review startups (CodeRabbit, Greptile, Cursor's own Bugbot, etc.) are well capitalized and shipping. SlashGuard's wedge — the deterministic 1,500-rule engine paired with AI — needs to hold up against incumbents who can copy it.
Three-tier GTM is wide. Plan covers $50/mo “vibe coders,” non-regulated technical enterprises, and highly regulated healthcare/fintech. A four-person team trying to ship all three motions at once risks doing none of them well; the regulated segment is the only one matched to Brian's actual operating experience.
Entity formation incomplete. Goodwin is mid-process; Inception Studio capital is “ready to wire once entity is formed.” Closing risk is administrative, not commercial, but it is real until the entity exists.
Lead investor not yet identified. Inception Studio's $100K with MFN is a price-setter only if a lead steps up. Insight and Four Cities Capital have met but not committed.
